Art fans, if you’ve been meaning to visit, consider this your sign. The Louvre Abu Dhabi has been temporarily home to a collection of masterpieces by Pablo Picasso, but they’ll be heading back on May 31. That means you’ve only got a week to see them in person.
The curated selection of the popular artist’s masterpieces arrived in the capital in January 2026. If you need a reason to visit? Picasso is one of the most influential artist of the 20th century. The exhibition at Louvre Abu Dhabi titled Picasso, the Figure is a monographic exhibition which traces the artist’s lifelong preoccupation with the human form. It features loans from the Musée National Picasso-Paris, alongside loans from institutions such as the Louvre Museum, and Mobilier National.
Alongside Picasso’s works, the exhibition also shines a light on artists from the Arab world, tracing his lasting influence across the region.

The exhibition takes you on a chronological journey through Picasso’s career, spotlighting his radical artistic shifts and the influence of Greek mythology across paintings, sculptures, drawings, and ceramics.
You will be treated to 130 of his works which includes significant loans from France, Qatar, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and West Asia. And it’s all intertwined withkey works by six Arab artists.

It’s all laid out across five thematic sections, so make sure you take your time with each section and soak it all in.
And in even better news, the Louvre Abu Dhabi is keeping its door opens on Monday, May 25 from 10am to 12am, allowing you an extra day to go and visit the masterpieces.
