Here’s what experts expect from UAE weather this summer and when the hottest weeks are likely to arrive
Summer has officially arrived in the UAE, bringing longer days, warmer evenings and another season of beach clubs, staycations and indoor escapes. But when does UAE weather reach its hottest point? Here’s what experts say about UAE summer 2026, when temperatures are expected to peak and why some weeks feel noticeably hotter than others.
When will the UAE be hottest?
According to Emirati astronomer Ibrahim Al Jarwan, summer across the UAE and wider Arabian Peninsula runs from June through to the end of August, with temperatures typically building throughout June before reaching their annual peak in July and August. Average daytime temperatures generally range between 39°C and 42°C in June before climbing to around 41°C to 43°C during the height of summer. In some areas, temperatures can feel even higher depending on humidity levels.
Why does summer feel hotter than the forecast?
The number on your weather app only tells part of the story. Humidity becomes a bigger factor during the second half of summer, particularly in coastal cities. As moisture levels rise across the Arabian Gulf and Arabian Sea, temperatures can feel warmer than the actual reading. This increase in humidity is one of the defining features of UAE weather in July and August, particularly in coastal areas.

What’s driving the heat?
Several weather systems influence the UAE’s summer climate, but the most significant is the Indian summer low-pressure system. When it strengthens, it pushes hot air across the region and plays a major role in producing the extreme temperatures associated with peak summer. At the same time, humid air arriving from the Arabian Gulf and Arabian Sea can increase moisture levels across the country, particularly along the coast.
A few summer weather facts
June brings the longest day of the year, with the summer solstice falling around June 21 and daylight lasting for more than 13 hours and 40 minutes. July is typically the hottest month, while August often combines high temperatures with some of the year’s highest humidity levels. Residents may also notice increased fog in the early mornings and occasional cloud build-up over the Hajar Mountains later in the season.
The weeks to watch
If you’re planning outdoor activities, beach days or weekend escapes, July and August are expected to bring the warmest weather of summer 2026. While seasonal patterns provide a good indication of what’s ahead, day-to-day conditions can vary, so it’s always worth checking the latest updates from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) before making plans.
