The popular service has grown in the past year, leading to the expansion
If you’re big on public transport and saving dirhams, this could be good news. Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has expanded its Bus-On-Demand service to now include four popular neighbourhoods: Al Qusais, Jumeirah Village Circle, Al Warqa’a and Dubai Investments Park.
The addition brings the total number of areas in Dubai to 17 using a fleet of 49 buses.
The service has grown in ridership in 2025, rising to 984,929 from 417,315 in 2024. This marks a growth rate of around 136 per cent.

What is Bus-On-Demand service?
It’s an RTA-backed service which allows passengers to book trips through a smart app. They can pick their pick-up location and drop-off location with flexible routes based on real-time demand.
The service improves the connection to passengers from residential communities to Dubai Metro stations and other public transport networks. By doing so, the RTA aims to reduce traffic congestions and people’s reliance on their private vehicles. It also saves you the sweaty trip walking to and from the metro.
Fares for the service start from Dhs5, and it’s Dhs4 for each additional rider via shared trips. This reduces the cost for users.
