This new bridge as part of the Dubai World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project will cut traffic from eight minutes to two
If you work in Downtown Dubai or DIFC you’ll know the struggle of the traffic during rush hour, however it’s about to get easier with a new bridge that was just opened by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA). The 500-metre bridge is part of the World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project which is to ease traffic in Downtown Dubai and DIFC, and particularly around the WTC.
The new bridge is designed to carry outbound traffic from Al Bada’a towards 2nd of December Street, with direct links to Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Mustaqbal Street, helping to alleviate traffic jams in the area. It has a capacity of 1,200 vehicles per hour.

This isn’t the only bridge in Dubai that’s about to make lives easier, the Dubai Harbour connection to Sheikh Zayed Road is due to be finished this year. The new bridge will significantly reduce traffic in the Marina and Media City. The bridge is costing Dhs431 million and it will have two lanes in each direction. It’s also 1.5km long and will have a capacity of 6,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.
Dubai is upgrading lots of its roads to ease traffic in various areas, designed to support Dubai’s continued growth, keep pace with its expanding population, and make getting around the city smoother and more enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.
