Bolt launches ride-hailing services in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi residents can now book Bolt rides across the capital as the ride-hailing platform officially launches in the city

Getting around Abu Dhabi is about to get a lot easier. Bolt has officially launched in the capital, bringing its ride-hailing platform to Abu Dhabi through a partnership with Dubai Taxi Company (DTC).

The launch marks Bolt’s next big step in the UAE after building momentum in Dubai. For Abu Dhabi residents and visitors, it means another app-based transport option for getting across the city.

The service will first introduce limousine rides across Abu Dhabi, giving customers access to a growing network of drivers, fleet operators and vehicles through the Bolt app.

According to DTC, demand for e-hailing services across its taxi and limousine divisions climbed 24 per cent in 2025, driven by more people choosing app-based bookings and continued fleet expansion. Bolt says Abu Dhabi was the obvious next move for the brand in the UAE.

“Abu Dhabi is a natural next step for Bolt in the UAE,” said Vasilis Hadjiaslanis, General Manager of Bolt UAE. “We have seen exceptional demand for reliable, app-based mobility, and this milestone gives residents and visitors in the capital access to a service that is fast, convenient, and built around their needs.”

For Abu Dhabi, it is another sign of how quickly smart mobility services are growing across the city.
