If you’re travelling with Emirates over Eid Al Adha 2026, be aware of this
Eid is a popular time for travel, plus this year, the Eid public holidays are a significant length with the private sector getting seven days off in a row. Emirates is expecting a high volume of passengers travelling from Dubai during the Eid Al Adha break and has issues a travel advisory to make sure everything runs as smooth as possible.
The airline has advised to arrive at least three hours before your departure from Dubai and be at your boarding gate at least 60 minutes before departure. During peak travel periods, it may take longer than usual to pass through security and immigration and to reach your gate.
They also recommend arriving by Dubai Metro to avoid traffic congestion.
Emirates has also advised to take advantage of the convenient check‑in options for a smoother and faster journey:
- Check in online or on the Emirates app and select your seats
- Check in and drop your bags 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours ahead for flights to the US.
- Use quick self check‑in and bag drop kiosks or Emirates Check‑in Ports except for flights to the US flights
- Emirates Skywards members can register for Emirates Biometrics on the Emirates app before travelling to use facial recognition through the airport
- Book Home Check‑in and let the agents come to you. Customers booked in First Class, as well as Platinum Skywards members, are eligible for complimentary Home Check‑in.
- If you are travelling on flights to the US or you have booked assistance services, please check in at the airport in person.
Visit the check‑in options page for more ways to make your journey smoother.
The airline is currently upgrading the First Class Lounge on Concourse C. While the lounge is closed, please use the First Class Lounge on Concourse B.
They have also advised to make sure your contact details are correct on Manage Your Booking to receive updates.
