And this is just the beginning of summer
UAE weather: Seeing your colleague for the first time this week? You’re probably discussing one of three things: what you did over Eid, the next public holiday, and… the heat levels in the UAE today.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the highest temperature will touch 46°C in Mezairaa (capital of the Liwa Oasis), Gasyoura and Al Quaa in Abu Dhabi.
For those of you in the city, there is slightly better news. Temperatures in Dubai on June 1 will reach 38°C, while Abu Dhabi temperatures will reach 39°C. After a dusty last week, the NCM has announced clear days for both cities. Over in the Northern Emirates, temperatures are hovering around 40°C.
Temperatures are expected to rise over the next few days, with a slight break just before the weekend.

*6 of the hottest ways to keep cool in Dubai this summer*
In case you were wondering…
As we move into summer and temperatures approach their peak, we can’t help but wonder – how hot can this place actually get?
Well, the official record for the UAE’s highest-ever temperature was July 2002, an eye-watering 52.1ºC (125.78ºF).
And remember, these temperatures are recorded in the shade using specialist calibrated equipment — so those Insta Story screenshots of your car’s thermometer don’t quite count.
Will we see highs above 52.1ºC this year? Well, we hope not, but if temperatures creep towards the 50ºC mark, you’ll definitely be hearing from us.
PS. If you’re already feeling the heat and want to cool down, we’ve rounded up some pretty cool places in Dubai for you to visit here.
