Dubai Marina, Al Seef and One&Only One Za’abeel are among the famous landmarks you’ll see in the new Hollywood blockbuster
As Jack Ryan: Ghost War landed on Prime Video on May 20, Dubai residents will likely have recognised the famous faces of the all-star cast: John Krasinski, Sienna Miller, Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly.
But they’ll also likely have noticed several iconic Dubai landmarks, which also took a starring role in the film. Dubai was selected as one of five key cities for filming the Tom Clancy action thriller, with scenes playing out across key Dubai locations including Dubai Marina, Al Seef, One&Only One Za’abeel, Dubai’s desert landscapes, Emirates Towers, DIFC’s Gate Avenue, as well as Burj Park.
So, if you’re planning to settle in for a movie night, don’t forget to keep an eye out for some of your favourite spots in the city.
The production, which was filmed in early 2025, is the newest instalment of the Jack Ryan film, which sees John Krasinski resume his title role as Jack Ryan for another dose of high-octane thrills. This time around, Ryan is reluctantly cast back into the world of espionage when a deadly conspiracy is revealed through an international covert mission. Against the clock, he’s forced to confront a black ops unit gone rogue, reuniting with CIA operative Mike November (Michael Kelly) and former CIA boss James Greer (Wendell Pierce), and a new partner – the razor-sharp MI6 officer Emma Marlowe (Sienna Miller). The team are forced to navigate a treacherous web of betrayal, for an action-packed, high-stakes mission unlike anything they’ve faced before.
After its global premiere on Wednesday May 20, you can now watch it on Prime Video.
The film is a collaborative entertainment project led by Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) alongside Dubai Media Council and Dubai Film Development Committee, the industry body established under the Council to support the growth and advancement of the film sector.
